BLINKER OF DRAGOS.XYZ
The story doesn’t end here. There is still hope.
Blinker collects credit for a website — from friends, family, fans, anyone who wants it to stay online. When the domain or the hosting has to be renewed and the owner can’t do it any more, the credit pays. Blinker knows what the domain and hosting cost each year, so it can tell you how long the site will live on what people have given.

WHAT BLINKER DOES
Blinker is a credit account attached to one website. It has only one job: to make sure the domain and the hosting keep being paid, so the site stays online even when its owner can no longer pay for it.
Every site has its own Blinker, with its own balance and in its own currency. Money given to one site is never used for another.
Anyone can add credit — friends, family, fans, or the owner. They can give by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, bank transfer or crypto. Each gift is recorded in the site’s currency; 5% is the service fee for running Blinker, and the rest becomes credit.
Blinker knows what the site costs: the yearly price of the domain and of the hosting, and the date of the next renewal. From that it works out how long the site will survive — how many years the credit covers, and the month it runs out. Every new gift moves that date further away.
When a renewal is due and the owner is offline, unreachable or no longer here, the renewal is paid from the credit, instead of from a card nobody can use. Every payment is written in the site’s history.
And everyone can see it. A small Blinker button in the site’s footer shows the years of credit; one click opens the site’s Blinker page, with the credit, the yearly cost, the next renewal, every gift and every renewal paid. As long as there is credit, the light keeps blinking.
Today the credit of every site is managed by dragos.xyz, and gifts and renewals are recorded here by hand.
WHO IT’S FOR
Blinker is for any website that should stay online. For a personal site — a life’s writing, the photos, a family history that nobody else has. For artists and musicians, whose work should outlive the next renewal date. For creators, with archives, videos and years of posts that people still come back to.
For rare knowledge: information that exists in one place only, and is vital to someone, somewhere.
And for everyone else — a club, a small shop, a memorial, a hobby, a project. Any website someone wants to keep online.
And yes, it is also bragging rights. “My site has 1,000 years of credit.”

WHERE BLINKER IS GOING
Today every gift and every payment is recorded by hand, here at dragos.xyz. The next step is to talk to the big domain and hosting providers and propose that they adopt Blinker: a credit balance attached to a domain, used automatically when the renewal is due and the owner doesn’t pay — so a site never disappears just because its owner can’t click “renew”.
